Are Fox News & Bill O'Reilly Any Different Than the Nazis or the KKK?

On Wednesday, Bill O'Reilly continued defending his slanderous assault on Arianna Huffington, repeatedly comparing her to the KKK and Nazis after blaming her personally for a handful of cherry-picked comments from readers of her website, The Huffington Post.

What makes O'Reilly's phony outrage all the more ridiculous is the fact that his own site has been caught spewing even worse comments from his 'premium' members than the few from HuffingtonPost that he's pretending to get all riled up about. Let's recap just a few of the comments about Hillary Clinton from billoreilly.com:
If Hillary wins, I will be respectful of our leader. If you could read my thoughts, I would be on the SS [Secret Service] watch list.
As a woman, i would open the door for her.....now, if there was nothing on the other side but empty space and a 50 foot drop into a moat filled leeches and (gulp) rats...well, I can't be held responsible.
If Hillary wins which I hope she won't. My guns are loaded for the revolt are yours?

Why Fox News, or any network, would continue to allow someone with such a long history of racist remarks even before his Sylvia's restaurant rant which gained so much attention, much less the same man who just two weeks ago threatened "to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama," to get away with baselessly and repeatedly calling anyone a racist genocidal murderer on air is shocking.
As Media Matters notes, "O'Reilly frequently attacks those with whom he disagrees, comparing them to the Nazis or the Ku Klux Klan." Last year it was the DailyKos, now it's HuffingtonPost. I'm really quite surprised he hasn't set his sights on C&L by now. Perhaps it's because he knows we're well versed here in the 'three magic words' guaranteed to keep BillO at bay: Malmedy, Mackris, and loofah (and for those of you taking notes, falafel will work just as well).

As for O'Liely's comments about Arianna, it's strictly a case of "cerebrum envy" on his part. Pass me the loofah, doofah Bill.

Yeah Arianna Huffington is a nazi and KKK cause of a stupid blogcomment by an unkown idiot.
But Bill "the white male Christian powerstructure is under threat by immigrants" O'Reilly is just a "traditionalist".
Bill O'Reilly is still on the air, and will remain on the (either he or a similar douche-bag) air because he appeals to the common man. Bill O'Reilly is the voice of the masses, the uneducated, or undereducated, the less than fully intelligent, the social misfit, the angry loner, the downtrodden, the malicious. He is the voice for the hateful and miserable, and they are, of course, legion.
What we here need to realize is that Bill O isn't the problem - he may be an ugly symptom, much like a pus-oozing herpes sore on a diseased cock (not that I've ever seen one), but he's just a symptom. The root of the problem is the plethora of stupid, ignorant, fearful Americans who eat this shit up and cheer for it loudly. We are quickly becoming a nation much like the hooting, violent society of gorillas in Planet of the Apes. It is only a matter of time till many of us are throwing our feces at each other like the simians we evolved from and are on the edge of nuking ourselves back to our ancestral ways.
No doubt, Bill O is a vile and repulsive piece of shit, but there are millions like him. If you doubt me, perhaps you live a life of privilege, or are just blissfully unaware. I suggest you spend even the slightest amount of time with the working Joes and blue collar types in your local bar. Fox News WILL be on the TV, and you can easily initiate a discussion filled with xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny, and racism. Cheers!

Besides the million, obvious problems with equating Ms. Huffington to Nazis, there is this...
...if Huffington Post (or Dailykos for that matter) is like the Nazis, who's Hitler in all of this? Nazis did what they did to serve a leader, not just because they wanted something to attack (though that was probably part of the equation). Is Clinton supposed to be Hitler? Or Obama? Nader? Kucinich? Who?
Billo is inoculated against all charges of anti-black racism. Both Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have appeared in the No Spin Zone to defend O'Reilly when he stood accused of racist remarks. Sharpton is a professional race hustler. When he gives a white man like Billo his blessing; it is tantamount to a permanent ghetto pass.
I always get a kick at how serious Bill, and his guests, take themselves; utter charlatan entertainment.
What happens on his site is worse than what he complains about on huffpo or Kos. Those have open boards where anyone can come and post as they want, free of any hindrance. Billo, himself, could have posted negative comments, just so he could report on them. On his site, he takes money from those people. In essence, he provides, for a fee of course, the platform for people to spread their hate.
BillO's largest audience demographic consists of children of the 50's and 60's. Most will go to their graves holding their Donna Reed, Ozzie & Harriet, Leave It to Beaver view of America, where people of color were kept out of sight and ignored. He appeals to thi saudience by using every opportunity possible to denigrate and downplay the strifes of people of color and use insinuations that propagate the stereotypes of that era. He's probably responsible for more hip replacement surgeries resulting from his "fans" jumping up from their easy chairs to cheer on his comments than these old fogies trying to mimic a move from Dancing With The Stars.
Racism in America is going through a slow agonizing death - we can only hope the same for Bill O'Reilly.
Ironic that people like O'Reilly filled the ranks of the KKK and the Nazi party. Intolerant, white, angry racists who hide behind robes, brownshirts and microphones...

Talking the other evening (at the Texas Democratic caucus! but that's another story!)with a recently ex-Republican, I mentioned Rush Limbaugh very tentatively, not looking for a dust-up. Republican allowed as how he's a regular listener but only because "the guy's awful but funny" and "I don't take him seriously."
So I'm beginning to wonder whether we take the creeps too seriously -- in fact I wonder whether we're part of the audience that sustains them, the fluttering hens in the Fox house? The right know they get a reaction out of us every damn time and may enjoy Coulter, Reilly, Limbaugh and the rest largely for that reaction and in spite of the awful content.
